Welcome! This is the website of Silver Branch Games, a small independent publisher of tabletop roleplaying games.
T-shirts of the Six Serpents!
11/3/12 - Here's a bit of a new venture. I've opened a merchandise store and you can now get T-shirts with the cover art for Jaws and the upcoming Serpents' Teeth supplement (both by the redoubtable Storn Cook).

Our illustrious founder in one of the UK/EU shirt colours, size L. Artwork tweaked slightly since this 'proof' shirt.
There are actually two storefronts, based on different manufacturing locations and delivery networks. (They also have different garment ranges.)
Albion things come in threes!
9/2/12 - Very Celtically appropriate that three notable things happened recently. Let me show you the first one:

1) The UK Roleplayers forum ran a small (but perfectly formed) set of awards and Albion won the title of 2011 Game of the Year! I am thoroughly gobsmacked and humblethumped.
2) I've released a short PDF product with an adventure outline and a set of six player characters ready to use in convention or home games. It's called Ill Works and it's available at DriveThru and RPGNow.
3) GMS Magazine, a small UK-based site covering all aspects of gaming, did a review of Albion. As far as I know that's the first review there's been - if you see any others please let me know.
Jaws supplement - cover art
4/11/11 - Did I promise you a teaser? Yes I did. So here's the cover art for Serpents' Teeth, a supplement for Jaws of the Six Serpents, currently in development. It's by the talented and panther-like Storn Cook, who happens to be a Jaws fan!

If you'd like to know more about Jaws, the guys at the Voice of the Revolution podcast just did a rather spiffy audio review!
The state of the Branch
10/10/11 - Albion is selling steadily. Do give feedback on sales sites and forums if you have a copy. If you'd like to know what it's about, the entire introductory chapter is available on the Albion support page. Older titles like Jaws of the Six Serpents continue to sell as well.
What next? A few things that I hope will see light between now and early 2012.
- A supplement for Albion, aimed at the GM, with more about the otherworlds and possibly some other stuff.
- A supplement for Jaws, mainly adventure material by mighty-thewed GMs who've run it for conventions and home groups. Watch out for a teaser for this...
- A little generic system idea, similar sort of thing to Loom.
- Making older products available through the RPGNow/DriveThru print programme.
As to other stuff, like further Albion material or new game projects, nothing is planned yet. If you have things you'd like to see, let me know through the Yahoo group.
Albion, at last!
24/5/11 - well, sorry to have gone so long without any news. But now it's here, it's a big one!

Albion - "Celtic fantasy roleplaying in a once and future Britain" - is now on sale.
This is a project I've been working on for a very long time, and I'm really pleased to finally have a version with layout, art and a mix of content that I'm happy with.
You can currently pick it up at RPGNow or DriveThru. It's a 256-page Letter format book, not just in PDF but also print in softback and hardback. Other sales channels will follow in due course.
You can check out the gallery page with some of the great art that's in the book. I'll be overhauling the Albion section of the site, but that might take a while so please bear with me.
Loom
24/11/10 - oops, I forgot to announce this here when it came out! Loom is a short, light generic system. It's 12 pages long and available from RPGNow and DriveThru for $1.50. It's something I was noodling with for a while, using playing cards. I'd little prospect of testing it in the near future so decided to put it out as is and be very upfront about its status. A few people have had fun with it, which is the point of the exercise! Because it's very light, it'll be easy to release setting outlines for it, which something may do if it goes OK.
Speaking of which - Tigers of Eternity is a 24-page fantasy setting outline for Loom, also available in PDF from RPGNow/DriveThru, $2.00. It introduces the world of Arken, with a sort of medium-high fantasy vibe and some distinctive touches. It also plays with the idea of PCs being drafted by Fate to be the next generation of the eternal band of heroes protecting the world from badness - whether they want to be or not.
